4. PGCIL Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Age Limits and Relaxations:

  • The upper age limit is as per PGCIL RECRUITMENT 2023  Rules.
  • Age relaxation is provided for specific categories:
    • Schedule Cast / Scheduled Tribe (SC / ST): 5 years
    • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
    • J&K Domicile / Ex-Servicemen / Victims of riots: As per Government of India directives
    • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years

PGCIL RECRUITMENT 2023 Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a three-year full-time Graduate Degree (Regular) in BBA, BBM, or BBS or equivalent.

Candidates with a postgraduate degree, diploma, or equivalent higher education qualification shall not be allowed to apply for the said post. (* refers to point no. 7 of General Information Section.) ^POWERGRID reserves the right to decide the equivalency in qualification.
Upper Age Limit27 years as of 05.10.2023 (Candidates should have been born on or after 05.10.1996 and on or before 05.10.2005)

 

5. PGCIL RECRUITMENT 2023 Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

  • Written Test
  • Interview
    Selection Process 
    Written Test / Computer Based TestEligible candidates will undergo a Written Test / Computer Based Test. Admission to the test will be based on the production of an Admit Card. The admit card with Roll Number, Test Center details, and guidelines will be available on the website. It will not be sent by post.
    Test Duration2 hours (Extra time allowed for PwD/PwBD candidates as per GOI directives)
    Test Format– Objective Type with four answer options – Part-I [Professional Knowledge (PKT)] – 120 Questions – Part-II [Aptitude Test (AT)] – 50 Questions – All questions carry equal marks (1 mark) – Wrong and multiple answers result in negative marks (¼ mark deduction)
    Test Qualifying Criteria– Unreserved / EWS Vacancies: – Minimum 30% in each part (Part-I & Part-II separately) – Minimum 40% marks in aggregate – Reserved Vacancies: – Minimum 25% in each part (Part-I & Part-II separately) – Minimum 30% marks in aggregate
    Computer Skill TestCandidates qualifying in the Written Test / Computer Based Test will be called for the Computer Skill Test in varying ratios based on the number of vacancies advertised. The Computer Skill Test is qualifying in nature.
    Document Verification & Computer Skill TestComputer Skill Test is qualifying and requires 50% for Unreserved/EWS and 40% for reserved category candidates (if posts are reserved for the respective category in the Region).
    Empanelment of CandidatesCandidates who qualify in the Computer Skill Test shall be empaneled based on their marks in the Written Test / Computer Test (100% weightage) and subject to qualifying in the Computer Skill Test (qualifying nature with no weightage). Shortlisting will be category-wise in proportion to the vacancies.
    Offer of Appointment & Pre-EmploymentSuitable candidates will receive an Offer of Appointment based on merit and requirements. Selection is subject to successful completion of a Pre-Employment Medical Examination, conducted as per POWERGRID’s Norms and Standards of Medical Fitness.
