The founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, is purchasing a home on the exclusive "Billionaire Bunker" man-made barrier island in Miami,

where he will live next door to an increasing number of famous people, including Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner.

According to Fortune magazine and Bloomberg, Bezos, 59, is spending $68 million for the waterfront mansion with three bedrooms and 2.8 acres (1.1 hectares) of land.

The founder CEO of Amazon resigned in 2021 to focus more on philanthropy and other enterprises.

According to Miami-Dade property records, MTM Star International was the residence's former owner. Bezos is not listed as the owner on the county website, which instead states that the property was sold in June.

The Associated Press was informed by Guillermo Olmedillo, the village manager of Indian Creek Village, that he is unaware of the acquisition. The community has its own police department and country club.

With his new residence in the Miami area, Bezos—who graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School in 1982—sort of returns home.
